Cocobel makes the most delicious chocolate with our world famous Trinidad cocoa. Isabel, creator of Cocobel offered me a commission to bring the forest into the shop. I started making the mosaic murals in 2019 and we installed the fourth one, Monstera in 2022. I used various firing techniques to achieve the glaze finishes needed to convey the light, shadow and texture of the deep forest. The first mural depicts the edge of a cocoa plantation, inviting viewers to wander on into the forest.
